Jerzy Janiszewski

Independent Graphic Designer

Born in Plock, Poland, graduated from the Gdansk Academy of Fine Arts.

Creator of the logo SOLIDARNOŚĆ / Solidarity, one of the most recognizable logos in the world.

He is working on various areas of artistic creation, mainly visual corporate identity projects, logos, posters in cooperation with various media, producers, theatres, publishing houses, advertising agencies, public and private institutions.

During martial law in Poland in 1982 he left for the Federal Republic of Germany. In 1983 received an atelier from the City of Paris - remained there until 1996. Returned to Poland and founded studio Ograf in Sopot. In 1998 went to Barcelona / studio Tajjer - in 2009 moved to La Coruña.

Since 1986 he has also been an author of many open air installations incorporating thousands of ribbons embedded in the urban space of the cities - Madrid, Barcelona, Lódz, Gdańsk.

For many years he has been creating original works in mixed-media, compositions made from packaging, paper clippings - individual exhibition in Washington / Charles Krause Reporting Fine Arts / recognized by the Washington Post as one of the ten most interesting in 2012.

His important projects include the logo and visual identity of the Polish Presidency of the EU / 2011, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland / 2012 and of the Sejm - Polish Parliament / Sept 2015.
